Talk to Eye Specialist on Lacrimal Caruncle

I have a dark/black slightly raised spotted in the inner corner of my eye near the tear duct. It has been there since childhood and is very visible. It does not usually cause pain, but I feel it looks abnormal compared to the other eye. I want to know whether it is a normal structure like the lacrimal caruncle or some pigmentation, and if it can be treated or removed.
