Asking for Self, Female, 24 years old, Lahore
Assalam-o-Alaikum,
I have been experiencing hair fall since my teenage years, which has worsened recently. My hair is thinning overall, and I lose a lot of hair daily. I notice both full-length hairs falling out and hair breakage. My scalp is also very dry, tight, and has fine white flakes.
I was previously diagnosed with iron deficiency but haven't had my levels checked recently. I also experience weakness, feel unusually cold, and get short of breath during strenuous exercise. My diet consists mostly of roti, vegetables, daal, and rice, with relatively little meat.
I'd like to identify the underlying cause of my hair loss and determine whether I have any nutritional deficiencies, anaemia, or thyroid issues.
Could you please advise whether I should get any blood tests, such as CBC, serum ferritin, an iron profile, or TSH, before the consultation, or would you prefer to assess me first and recommend the necessary tests?
Thank you.
