Assalam o Alaikum! Saturday, December 5, 2020 ___________________ I am Khurram Shahzad From Mardan. I have been treating my Mother from Dr. Sartaj Alam for the last 2.5 years. I myself am a Physiotherapist. My mother is a Type-II Diabetic Patient. She has this condition for over 15+ years. She is having comorbidities like, in easy words; Hypertension, Stone in Gall bladder, some in kidney as well. 2.5 years ago, her kidneys were shutting down. Our Diabetologist advised to visit a Nephrologist to treat her Kidneys from shutting down. I searched online all of Nephrologists available in the Peshawar Region from LRH to IKD to RMI. I measured their clinical capabilities & years of experience & Attitude as well. Believe me; Allah made me do an outstanding choice in the Form of Dr. Sartaj Alam. I liked his Highest academic achievements along 16+ Years’ experience as well. He was in Lady Reading Hospital back then. I visited him in LRH-IBP in the evening. He took more than half an hour. He told me to relax & told me that my mother condition was acute & IN SHA ALLAH it would be managed easily via medications & she would be far away from Dialysis in the upcoming years. Her creatinine was over 2+. Alhamdullilah her vomiting & diet got improved with time. Then, he moved to North West General Hospital. He once told me that ‘Quality of care to kidney patient was not satisfactory in LRH’. His Fee was the same in a private hospital (North West General Hospital) as it was in LRH. We would visit him after 2/3 months. Alhamdullilah My mother is still far away from Dialysis due to Allah & then him. Last year in 2019 my mother got a severe kidney disorder. My mother’s kidney was decomposing, Thanks to his abrupt decision, she was admitted & she got recovered in 5 days & her kidneys got recovered too. He left NWGH. Now a days he is at Allied hospitals of Peshawar Medical college. We were late with his appointment due to COVID-19. We visited him after 7 months in Sep 2020. My mother was in horrible condition. She was having 10/10 pain in her left kidneys. She was having 4-6 episodes of vomiting in a day. Her Sugars were over 470 mg/dl. Her creatinine was over 6.5 along BUN of 312. I almost lost hope in her as I was outside of home for a month. I couldn’t bear her condition. We visited him in Emergency in Prime Teaching Hospital. He took around an hour with us. He took a detailed history. Then, saw our Lab reports. He did an Ultrasound of her kidneys himself. Alhamdullilah he diagnosed my mother’s condition himself rather a Radiologist couldn’t correlate & diagnose. He was correct about my mother’s diagnosis. She was having left sided Emphysematous Pyelonephritis. This being the Second time. She was treated with top class IV Antibiotics for 2 weeks. 1gm/day. She was checked after a week, as we would go to Mardan & visit him in Peshawar. Alhamdulillah, she recovered with slow pace. After 3 weekly visits my mother got recovered from this Deadly & rare condition. For Patients information my mother was on bed/stretcher for about 20 days. She is walking back again Alhamdulillah, Thanks to Allah & then this Brilliant human; I am saying Human because ‘All the doctors are not humans. I have been in this doctor’s community from more than 7 years. I hope this will address many of the problems for the upcoming Renal patients from Pakistan generally & KP in specific. By the way we are still visiting him; My mother creatinine is back to 3.2 from 6.8 after this deadly condition. Rest is up to Allah. I would strongly recommend him, if you have any Kidney related condition. Don’t hesitate to visit him. He is an outstanding Renal Physician & Transplant Surgeon as well. ___________________ Overall-Ratings: 5/5 Consultation Fee: 4/5 (Although it is okay with his Specialization) Patient Satisfaction: 5/5 Clinic Hours: 4.5/5 (Please pre-appoint your consultation; talk to his assistant) Expertise: 5/5 Experience: 5/5 Wait time: 4.5/5 Humanity: 10/10! ___________________
