Talk to Breast Surgeon on Breast Lump

Assalam o alaikum,

I am a 30-year-old woman who stopped breastfeeding my baby in July 2024. Yesterday, I felt a lump in my right breast that wasn’t there a week ago. It appeared suddenly and feels like a 1-inch hard mass in the upper corner of the breast. It doesn’t hurt when I touch or press it, and it feels fixed in place, not moving. It seems to be deep inside, rather than on the skin. The skin and shape of my breast appear normal.

I am concerned about whether this lump could be serious. Should I take some tests or screenings? If so, what tests should I consider? Could this lump be cancerous? Should I wait to see if it resolves on its own, or should I seek medical attention right away?
