I have severe anxiety issue from past 2 year Im also taking antidepressant, my blood pressure is always a little high when im in anxious state and also high heart rate i have consulted 2 dr one prescribed me atenolol 25 and the second doc suggest me nebivolol 2.5 Kindly respected doctors suggest me which beta blocker is good for me at this age i have no other problem
Hi u know about history of anxiety and taking antidepressant. In stress both blood pressure and heart rate increased but it does not indicate any disease. So beta blocker not specific drug for blood pressure and heart rate. But if u continue taking medication u start nebivolol. Also concerned with psychiatrist and cardiac physician.
ideally for anxiety related issues propranolol is preferred but for BP nabivolol
if your issue is an ity only then do take inderal and monitor BP , of still hypertensive then change to nabivolol

just take inderal 10 mg thrice a day. if the symptoms don't get controlled dose can be increased or medicine can be changed.

Previous on inderal 40 mg a day 2 months bp was 150/90 then 5 months on atenolol 25 mg bp was 140/80

From 1 week i start nebivolol 2.5 bp is 110/70 pulse rate is in 60s or 70s

nebivolol is also fine. dont worry. its better than atenolol.

Thanks alot dr nouman as i mentioned my age is 21 and my whole anxiety is based on this medication just want to know does it safe for long term because very time my mind thinks that i will soon get heart attack or suden cardiac arrest although i was no symptoms at all also cleared all cardiac test what i thought im thinking like this is i have severe history of heart disease in my family after 45 age

i see. right now your biggest problem is this stress and anxiety which obviously is not right for your health and your heart as well. that being said you do have a strong family history of premature heart disease.
my advice is that try to relax yourself through behavorial changes. agar ziada fark na paray tu drs ki help lu. and agar sub cardiac tests thek hain tu phir befikr hu jao. bus healthy lifestyle rakhu. zaruri nae k agar family hiatory hai tu apku bhi wo bimari zarur hugi. just relax. and live in the moment. fikar kartay kartay sari life na guzar daina ;) agar buhat concerned hu tu Saal main aik bar kisi cardiologist k pas chalay jaya karu.

Start Nebivolol 5mg then continue monitor blood pressure and heart rate for 1-2week. If blood pressure not control then switch to other medication. Don’t worry. Also engage in physical activity and healthy diet.
