I Have Congenital Bicuspid Aortic Valve, recently my aortic stenosis progressed from mild to moderate on doing 2d echo test, now local cardiologist here suggest to go for surgery post 2 years to 5 years time, I had very mild symptoms now it’s no symptoms. My Aortic Value Area is narrowed to 0.9 sqmm, also have palpitations. presently I am on blood thinner, Beta Blocker BP pills what should I do now to not go for SAVR ?
you will need surgery in 2-3 years' time. Try getting surgery in time to avoid bed effects on heart.
no medical treatment for this disease. no need for blood thinners. get your ECHO every 6 month. once it becomes severe then you will need surgery. there is no alternate option for this
The progression to surgery is not really preventable . At this stage your Aortic valve gradient is 33 mm of Hg and EF is 60 % and your symptoms are mild. So Surgery not needed . You may add Ezyday 25 mg and Rouvastat 10 mg .
Just meducal treatment for now
Close follow up with your cardiologist plus echocardiograms to be done annually for disease progression
No surgical intervention required at the moment but you might need a valve replacement in next 5 years or so
