Asking For Self, Male, 53 Years old, Lahore
I’ve had hypertension since many years, took medicines in 2020-2021 and then stopped suddenly, my bp remains elevated at most times, like 130/90+ mostly, even if it is low rarely it is only 120/85 but when I walk it gets normal but still a little high. I went to many doctors and they always say that 140/90 is the normal standard nowadays, so no medicine. Please tell me what to do
Start medication, 140/90 is not normal
U can give trial of life style modification with exercise , some weight loss , avoidance of added salt and good fibre and plant based diet and then re evaluate by bp charting and if still on higher side then start medication.
after the age of 50 140/90 is acceptable
after the age of 50 140/90 is acceptable
normal bp is less than 120/80. if it\'s between 120 to 130 and diastolic 80 to 90 then first we proceed with life style modification like decrease salt intake, use of vegetables, exercise and drinking more water. if bp still remains same then no need for medicines but if its above 130 with all these modifications then treatment should be started
