Asalamoalaikum Doctors, my heartbeat usually stays above 100, right now it is 110. I first noticed this problem 3-4 years back. And as of recently I've been experiencing palpitations (which I understand is an awareness of your own heartbeat), feeling as if my heart is pounding in my chest, it's not continuous. As of yesterday I'm also experiencing visible pulsations in my abdomen (I can see my epigastric region pulsating when lying down or at an incline of 45 degrees plus). Please advise.
AOA n wasalam
current guidelines suggest that 60 to 130 heart rate considers normal but it should b continous...i would suggest u to go for ECG n come to my OPD if possible or whatsapp me
if its episodic then get an ecg during the event. if its continuous then get thyroid profile done.
It is very important in this case that If You are taking any medicine, it should be discontinued.
After a week you should have excellent monitoring like:
Temp: 6hrly
ECG with Long lead II : Daily for 10 days.
Holter monitoring for 24 hours.
ASOT.
CBC & ESR
Serum electrolytes, creatinine, magnesium.
Echocardiogram.
Please do ecg then take appointment or call me through marham
