Asking for Other, Male, 4 years old, Sharjah

My son's upper front 4 teeth started decaying when he was one and a half year old. He has been on ebf till 1.5 yr and after that became anaemic so dr suggested iron supplements. After taking iron supplements the teeth became visibly black then the color became brownish but the teeth were decaying.the right and left bicuspid also have cavity. Now he started complaining of pain in his right bicuspid so we went to a dentist. He told that the there is abscess recommended root canal for this tooth and filling and cap for all the other ones. Also said that the front teeth cap will have to be removed once he turns 6 so that permanent teeth would come easily. My son had his first sitting of root canal in which they gave injection in gums. Is there any other way to treat than root canal or if not is there any less painful way then giving injection? I need a 2nd opinion from experts here if the treatment suggested by the dentist is correct

i hv not seen pt but whatever you are telling about problem and recommended treatment it seems tightly advised.
yes we have other option for treatment n that is general anaethesia. children are usualy uncooperative and we usualy treat them under genral anaesthesia. it is a single day procedure in which all root canals, fillings, crowns or whatever required is done in single visit under general anaesthesia. for more details you can consult

in children the RCT requires injection to numb the tooth so it may be cleared of all the infection and debri. unfortunately with a sensitive tooth there isn't a way around it . there are other ways of having the procedure in a pain less manner.
concious sedation and general anesthesia being two

This is a good treatment he might need root canal treatment for these teeth
but if you want it to be less painfull than you can go for concious
sedation or general anesthesia . The dr can do all root canal in the same
visit.

Dentist in Rawalpindi - Dr. Saadia Siddique

Yes the treatment they suggested is fine. It is very difficult to treat a
child for root canal treatment. Try to get your child flexible with the
dentist or there is only a painless treatment in sleeping anesthesia which
is only recommended at good hospital with such facility.
