when tooth get cavities initially you start feeling only sensitivity and mild pain as the cavities deepens and progress toward the nerve the pain level increases and the pain is extreme in nature.
it won't respond to your pain Killers and even you can feel the pain with your heartbeat. in certain cases you would need to go with root canal treatment but in other only filling or restoration of a tooth is enough
