Talk to Dermatologist on Acne Scars
Asking for Self, Female, 28 years old, Lahore
I am female 27 years old unmarried. I had acne scars since teenage and till date I get pimples usually once a month (one or two pimples on cheeks). I also have acne scars on face specially on both cheeks. I live in lahore pakistan and I am so concerned about my treatment. I am confused which doctor to choose. Which treatment to have. I was prescribed with isotretinoin 20 mg which I used for one month but it caused severe joint pain. I also had 2 sessions of microneedling with prp and one session of carbon peel upon a doctor's suggestion but couldn't see any significant improvement. Now I am so confused and exhausted. I have consulted many doctors but of now use. Please tell me what to do.

AA, you need proper course and dosage of iso, that\'s your only option but under monitoring. scars are tricky and need to be seen to be guided how much REALISTIC improvement can be possible, PRP , carbon peel all are funny things and can read IF FDA approved? so wasted money.... sadly doctors at times just push for procedures without telling realistic outcome but then when a doctor is honest and tells honestly some times patients don\'t enjoy such doctor. in short scars are scars they can\'t vanish...can be minimized but need sessions and correct modality and that can be really expensive but PRP and carbon peel won\'t make any difference to level you are expecting. hope this helps. regards
