Talk to Dermatologist on Dermatologist | Chronic Heat Hives

Salam,

At 17, I visited Pakistan for three months and began experiencing heat hives whenever I went outside. I initially thought it was due to poor air quality from burning trash. Upon returning to the UAE, a dermatologist diagnosed me with possible solar urticaria and prescribed a protective cream and antihistamines.

Since 2015, I’ve managed my condition with moisturizing creams and occasional antihistamines during flare-ups. However, I noticed that after returning to the UAE, anxiety began to trigger my hives, especially during social interactions or uncomfortable situations like at shop tills.

Moving to the UK improved my symptoms due to reduced sunlight, but after relocating to central England in 2024, the hives worsened. I started taking daily loratadine pills to control the condition.

I’m now back in Pakistan for a short stay, and the condition has become more severe. The air feels harsh on my skin, and anxiety continues to exacerbate the hives.
