I have severe pain in my right foot thumb.i get worse if something touches here and i cant even sleep the whole night due to this pain.i am suffering with this pain from last 10to 15 years during this period i have tried so many treatments and consult with different doctors even i remove my nail but everytime it get more and more worse now recently i consult with a dermatolgist who diagonse it nail payrigum and infection and suggest me tab levo and fusderium cream and than removal of nail.i am not getting any benefit from these medicines. I just want you to tell me what it can be and if it is paytrigum and i remove my nail so i can recover from this severe problem and pain.please reply i am in so much pain

Generally most of the nail problems are difficult to treat unfortunately. Your nail seems to have a Pterygium which is specific to a skin condition called Lichen Planus.
We suggest different creams & intralesional injection sometimes to get some relief or improvement.
Trauma can aggravate this problem and I will not opt removal of nail.
However, please follow your skin specialist advice as he is the best judge for you.

I doubt if its a pterygium. Your complaints also dont support it.I would like to get it examined and investigated

Precisely the degree of pain u r complaining warrants investigation including mri and biopsy. U can visit me at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore if fees is an issue or if privately I can help u in the reduction of fees. But please get urself checked.

Its a government teaching hospital . U will get urself checked in dermatology opd of it on the usual opd slip just like any government hospital. U can visit on monday opd.
