Talk to Dermatologist on PRP With Microneedling Treatment For Acne Scarring
Asking for Self, Male, 24 years old, Lahore
Hi all, I have been to multiple dermatologists for acne and acne scarring. Doctors suggested me PRP with microneedling treatment.
My question is, is there any difference in the type of PRP + Microneedling? Because I have observed a significant difference in the cost of PRP + Microneedling session.
1. One doc is doing it for 7k/session and as per him, I'll require 4-5 sessions. Difference can be seen after 2nd session. 2. 2nd doc is charging 15k/session and claiming that I'll need only 2 sessions and difference can be seen after 1st session.
I respect both the dermatologists but I see both these claims a bit contradictory to each other, so need some guidance here.

Yes there is a difference. Some good doctors prepare PRP in special kit, whereas most of the doctors prepare that in test tubes. In test tubes only a very small percentage of platelets are obtained. Thus less effective. In addition to that micro needling is done according to the number, type abs depth of the scar. For example if you have large deep scars then along with PRP and micro needling, scar subcision is also undertaken so that patient gets the benefit of the treatment as early as possible. To give some idea, I do the best possible treatment for acne scars on face with superb results. My treatment procedure/ process is comparable to the treatment being done in Europe or USA. I charge RsTwentyFourThousand per treatment which includes intra-dermal PRP injection with highly specialized needle, Micro-needling and if required, scar subcision.
