Talk to Endocrinologist on Diabetes, Blood Pressure

Asking for Mother, Female, 50 years old, Burewala

Doctor, my mother has had Type 2 Diabetes for about 2 years. She has been taking insulin — 20 units in the morning and 10 units in the evening. Her blood sugar was not well controlled, so we increased the evening dose to 15 units about 3 months ago. However, her sugar levels are still not under control. What should we do next? I also want to ask if we should do any tests to check for complications, especially kidney function. Should we do kidney tests or any other tests?

She needs a comprehensive diabetes care including dietary advice, exercise plan and proper selection of most appropriate medicines and prevention and monitoring of chronic diabetes complications including heart and kidney failure, eye and feet amputation etc. For proper evaluation and treatment of your mother, her full medical history physical examination and some lab tests will be required. You can book your appointment for online consultation or a clinic visit

She needs a consultation with a trained endocrinologist. It\'s quite difficult to answer this question in this post.

I would first ask why she is on insulin and for how long? Who started it?
Do you check glucose/sugar levels? What are the readings?
Did she ever have her HbA1c levels checked?
What is your mother\'s weight and BMI?
How many hypos or low glucose levels has she experienced?
Does she have any other medical conditions?

There are many questions to be asked; therefore, arrange a visit to a trained endocrinologist.

She is using insuline for almost 2 years. Firstly in morning 20 points and in evening 10 points by the recommendation of doctor. But now for three months doctr advised to increase 5 points but still no recovery. She is bit weak also . Yesterday doctr advised to test her hb1Ac test and kidney tests etc. What are your recommendations for her?
