Asking For Self, Female 25, islamabad, peshawar
Hello Doctors,
I have swelling on the left side of my thyroid but no other symptoms. My TSH, T3, and T4 levels are normal. FNAC shows a benign adenomatous colloid nodule (THY2). A Tc-99 thyroid scan indicates that my left lobe is suppressed, while the right lobe is hyperfunctioning with increased tracer uptake.
I would like to know:
.Can the suppressed left lobe regain function?
Is surgical removal necessary in this case, or are there non-surgical options like medication or radiofrequency ablation (RFA)?
What are the potential risks of leaving the nodule untreated?
It is normal nothing to worry
It is very important that any person with a thyroid nodule, seek medical care from a qualified medical professional, so they can get a correct diagnosis, and treatment plan.
while the nodule is benign, the functional abnormalities in the thyroid (suppressed left lobe, hyperfunctioning right lobe) warrant further evaluation and management by a medical professional.
