Asking for Father, Male, 56 years old, CHINIOT
My father, Muhammad Azam (56 years old), has been diagnosed with severe hypothyroidism (TSH: 76.1 mIU/L, off thyroxine) and a nodular goiter. His thyroid scan shows:
Left lobe: A prominent functioning nodule (photon avid area).
Right lobe: A solid nodule with parenchymal changes (seen on USG).
Given these findings, we seek further evaluation regarding the nature of the nodules (benign vs. malignant) and possible management options, including FNAC, medical therapy, or surgical intervention. Kindly advise on the next steps.
TFTs and scan are not correlating...Is he using any antithyroid medication...or not??..Since scan is hard evidence i woukd suggest to repeat TFTS from gd source...and then proceed accordingky..
2nd consult endocrinologist....either local...or on video...
1. Full medical history physical examination will be required for proper diagnosis and treatment.
2. Repeat Thyroid function tests and book your appointment through Marham.
ideally if patient if hypothyroid then no need to do functional study like thyroid technitium scan as it will mis lead as in this case, in case nodular goiter is there then do ultrasound and FNAC of suspicious nodules, need in clinic endocrine consultation
