Talk to Ent Specialist on Ear Blockage Even After Treatment
Asking For Father, Male 57, Lahore
Ear infection and blockage was experienced few weeks ago. 1000mg Augmentin 5 day course was completed along with painkiller (dicloran). Thereafter, Dexcip drops for 10 days, 4 drops in morning and evening have been administered which have improved blockage around 80%. Still some jetlag type blockage is experienced. Please advise how to clear the ears of blockage-feeling. Should Dexcip drops be continued even after 10 days?

dear sir. tablet danzen ds and dexcip drops for 5 days along with vicks vaporub steam has been administered. There is improvement in ears obstruction. just a bit of obstruction remains. please guide further

Yes, if still there is discharging ear then continue dexcip drops for another week. Make sure not to soak the ear while taking bath (that will aggravate this discharge). Place a cotton soaked in vaseline /oil to plug the ear while taking bath. Remove at the time of adding drops. This will help clean the ear in a quicker way. Also take xynosine nasal spray twice daily for 01 week.
