“I visited a doctor on May 1st, and they said there was fluid behind my eardrums. Then they prescribed antibiotics. After that, I visited the ENT specialist on May 12th, and they said the fluid behind the eardrums had improved a lot.
I want to ask you: when will this get completely better? Some doctors say it will improve after delivery — will it really get better after delivery?” i am 7th months pregnant."Sometimes my nose gets blocked too."
It will take 2- 3 months provided you take the medicine for full 15 days
Greetings!
The history you\'ve told, points out to a condition called otitis media with effusion and it can be secondary to different causes and in your case since you said that your nose also gets blocked, it is likely to be bcz of that and yes this thing can aggravate during pregnancy. i cannot say for sure if it will completely resolve after delivery but it can be improved on using nasal decongestant and steroidal nasal sprays. However, if the problem still persists then a small surgery can also be undertaken to remove fluid from behind the eardrum. Thanks

"I have seen many doctors, and all of them say that this happens during pregnancy because progesterone and other hormonal changes can cause swelling in the nose and the Eustachian tubes. They advised me to use steam inhalation and a nasal spray and to take precautions. They also said that after delivery, when the hormones return to normal, the Eustachian tubes should open up again and everything should improve. I have consulted five ENT surgeons, and they all share the same opinion."
