Asalam o alaikum, I am having sore throat from last 1 month or maybe more and I've tried everything it's not recovering i do gargles twice a day i had an antibiotic augmentin 1g twice a day for 1 week yet it looks like it's getting worse and not recovering can anyone please guide if this is something serious as usually in past my sore throat disappears in a week or if taken antibiotic it vanishes in 2 or 3 dose, please check the attached picture. Thank you :)
Thanks for sharing ur concern. From the picture that u have shared theres hyperaemia and redness but no element of bacterial infection. So most likely it’s viral. Do u have any other symptoms like fever, stuffy nose, cough, rashes, abdominal pain or lumps anywhere in the body (esp neck). You may book an online appointment as a more detailed history would be required.
WAA you already have taken the antibiotic, so no need to take further. Just start doing gargles with any mouth wash and yake plenty of fluids, also get some antacid for stomach cover.

Thank you doctor, there's no any other symptoms it's just a throat as it's been a month and it's not yet recovered so was curious if it's okay to have sore throat for a month and it doesn't require any attention.
