Aoa I'm 27 weeks pregnant. I m facing this problem since 20th week as I had severe chest congested plus nose blockage. Which made me sleepless all night. I consulted gyne n general physician. They prescribed antiallergic tab for 10 days. Now again it is happening that I feel something is blacking my nose at its end near n up to the throat but in nasal passage. On Saturday I have visited ENT,he checked n examined thoroughly n said I have nasal polyps. Prescribed xynosine spray. I m using but it doesn't relief me.as I can't sleep till now. I wake up like If I had no sleep in my eyes due to blocked nasal mucus sticked to the end of nasal cavity. I keep clearing it but can't. I want to sleep but failed.

i feel sorry for your complaints.
1st of all dont use any anti allergic tablets in pregnancy, they are not safe!
only sprays are safe!
2nd in pregnancy you will face these problems, but after pregnancy they will settle down. so dont worry!
use
Avamys nasal spray 2 puffs in both nostrils two times daily uptil the end of pregnancy. it is safe spray! will not irritate you. so continue it untill pregnancy ends. remember its effect will come in a week.
continue xynosine nasal spray but use it for 5 days not more than that.
and after pregnancy get your nasal polyps removed.
Aoa really feel sorry fr ur concerns regarding sleep n nasal obstruction if u really having nasal polyps thn only possible n safe remedy is nasal sprays they are safe effective n ubcan use fr lengthy period of time so u can continue with AVAMYS NASAL SPRAY 2 puffs in both side of nose ONCE daily this is what i can sugest at this nick of time

Thank you so much for your reply. I didn't face this condition before my pregnancy infact my daughter(6years old) has adenoids n tonsils. I was worried if my second child would not get same. And main thing was I feel unrest, anger due to sleepless nights n days . yes for sure I will use this spray for relief.

Pregnancy associated Nasal congestion is a known fact. I cannot comment if u have polyps or not as enlarged turbinates can be mistaken for polyps.
At this moment use of steroid based Nasal sprays and occasional use of xynosine is okay.
Your gynaecologist can tell whether you can use antihistamines or not.
Would recommend you to visit ENT again after delivery

Thank you so much doctor. I have posted my query to marham Facebook page when I didn't get a single reply over here. I have uploaded my prescription there and doctor said its inferior turbinate hypertrophy. So its not polyps?? But why this sticky mucus is not going out of there. Irritating me all time. Using herbal tea n soups as well. Are these adenoids which makes thick sticky mucus?

Yes some other ENT specialist was tagged there. I sent him my prescription which I consulted here in AJK. He has written some diagnosis on that which I couldn't get so I asked from him and he said its inferior turbinate hypertrophy. I don't know what's this. But for sure I will use drops n sprays other than taking anti allergics.

Thank you so much doctor. Actually I didn't face this problem other than my pregnancy.. So doctor was saying it will be gone after delivery. But this time is much tough for me. Due to unrest n sleepless. 1-2 hrs sleep in 24 hrs is not ok For me. Yesterday one doctor prescribed ALP 0.25mg half tablet at night and I slept peacefully.should I continue for 5 days? And Yes thanks again for the spray you prescribed me. Actually I live in AJK (LOC). Every medicine is not available here. But I will try to get it inshaa'Allah.
