Talk to Ent Specialist on Tonsillits Gland

Recently I had Infected tonsillits witj severe pain for 04 days. Got treated by multiple doctors in remote sindh. Now Im back in Karachi, is it good idea to get them operated? Any side effects? I came to know they do grow back?

Dear to have just one episode is not an indication for indication for surgery is multiple episode of tonsillitis in a year,or loss of job ,or complains of obstructive sleep apnae etc.
Operation should be done once acute infection subsides,so yes its the right time if you fit in the criteria to be operated.
The most common complication is pain,which is controlled by pain medications.
Tonsils once removed never grow back.

If you have recurrent tonsillitis mean if you have many attacks every year
so better to remove it. If it is properly removed will not recur.
