person-avatar

Asking For Self, Female, 21 Years old, Karachi

About a year ago I had covid, since then I haven’t regained my taste and smell senses completely. Perfumes smell and foods taste different to me compared to before. I cant smell anything completely unlike in the past my smell senses were very strong. What do do you suggest I do? Which doctor should I consult? ENT or General Physician? Is there any cure for this at all?

General Physician in Lahore - Dr. Muhammad Usama Nazir

do you have a blocked nose?
is there any headache or pain in eyes?
do you get a heavy head when you pray/go in sajood?

Yes i often get a blocked nose sometimes for no reason and sometimes because of certain triggers. Also I’m extremely sensitive to dust, pollen and I get a runny nose, whenever that happens my ability to smell becomes worse.

according to what you are telling me, u most probably have allergic rhinitis. allergen exposure is the most common cause and then there will be runny nose and headache.
first avoid the allergens causing problem and with some medication In sha'Allah, you will be good to go.

ENT is a field where examination is must and without examination, prescribing medicine is like "hawa mein teer chalana".
