I'm pretty sure a doctor who advised you this medicine wasn't specialist and sudden discontinuation is dangerous use half daily for 1 week then stop it and if you have any problem visit a senior specialist physician in your area

Wa alaikum salam, Why it was started? if for heart rate control or BP control than monitor both if they are normal than you can stop it but by tapering it off gradually i.e half tablet daily for a week than on alternate days for 5 days if BP and heart rate remains normal stop it!
