Asking for Husband, Male, 45 years old, Karachi
He started experiencing severe vomiting, then vertigo after sever indigestion two months ago. Vomiting stopped within 24 hours, but vertigo continued for nearly a week, sometimes mild, sometimes severe. Most severe when lying in bed, or changing sides in bed. No vertigo in walking around. ENT and Neurologist checked ear, eye movements and head positions all were normal, they said apparently nothing is wrong. BetaSerc was given, but it is not too effective. On and off mild vertigo in early morning or late at night continued for two months. Since yesterday, again there was severe vomiting and vertigo, but today he has gone to work as it has gotten better. Would really appreciate if some doctor could advise or guide in correct direction what to do.

Its benign positional vertigo. Not serious thing. Move the head slowly. Not to move in speedy motion. And read from google about it im.detail.

Thank you to all doctors who responded to my query. I have another question, maybe some of you can help with it. The neurologist has ordered a Head MRI with dye injection to be given first. But from what I have been reading, there have been investigations of dye retained in brain and causing side effects, and it should only be given in very critical patients. For my husband, the doctor said most likely MRI will be clear as all external tests are normal, this is only to rule out 1% chance of any other serious matter. Is it necessary to inject dye? He has had a dye-injected scan of his eye once before for a retinal fluid leak, and it did cause him mild side effects. My question is that is this necessary?
