Asking For Father, Male 57, lahore
aoa....my father has cva attack since 3 months.. he is now bed ridden...dr thought that he has metastasis cancer in brain...but his report shows no malignancy....now a days he is dealing with severe hyponatremia...sodium level decrease gradually n he becomes unconscious n in state pf confusion...but we r unabl to find root cause of hyponatremia..can u plzz hlp
He needs clinical assessment as there are multiple causes of hyponatremia
he needs to be admitted and investigations will be done .
Dear your father needs to be assessed by physician to correctly find out the cause plus start of treatment of hyponatremia if it becomes symptomatic.Till cause is identified just keep his sodium levels well in acceptable levels avoiding any further deterioration. This will admission in hospital and some investigations till then keep sodium level as close as normal levels. Also get the investigation of origin disease and start treatment for that as well .
Symptomatic hyponatremia should be investigated and treated in hospital setting. There can be multiple causes.

he was admitted in hospital month ago but then discharged...now again admitted...many clinical test were done but no results.
Kindly get serum electrolytes done . Improve salt intake by ORS so it will
not increase sodium level instantly . Moreover does he sweat more or
urinate much or vomitings ? How is the appetite and sleep . Any bed sores
?
Or u may get his investigations previously done also and visit my clinic or
any neurologist .
