Hi .. i have a severe vitamin D deficiency, with a level of 10 ng/mL. My doctor suggested that I take injections once a week for four weeks. Each injection contains 200,000 IU. I am not taking vitamin D orally because my doctor recommended injections instead, as they are absorbed differently than oral supplements. However, I am a bit worried about whether such a high dose could have any harmful effects on me.
walaikumAsalam
orally nhi to iv?
Injections are intra-muscular?
At these levels you mentioned, it is not a problem if you taking them at week intervals! Yup, injection I/M has more efficacy then the oral route! No worries, follow the routine!

With such a level of deficiency, this dosage is undoubtedly appropriate. Just take it and then check levels of Vit D after 4-5 weeks again.

If your level is 10 ng/mL, that’s considered severe deficiency. The fastest way to raise it is a combination of high‑dose vitamin D3 supplements and increased sun exposure. A common regimen is 50,000 IU once a week for 6-8 weeks, then a daily maintenance dose of 1,000-2,000 IU. Pair this with foods rich in vitamin D—fatty fish, fortified dairy, egg yolks—and aim for 10-15 minutes of midday sun a few times a week. Check your levels again in 8-12 weeks to see the response. If you have trouble absorbing vitamin D, talk to your provider about a liquid or injectable form.
if ur body is unable to make vit D take injections but for complete cure you need treatment
