i have to go for pylori stool antigen test .. i have been taking esomeperazole for three months for indigestion. my question is that ... do i have to stop taking esomeperazole before going for stool h pylori test ??

just esomeprazol doesn't eradicate or kill H pylori so u can use omeprazole before h pylori test .
if H pylori test is positive then take its regimen to eradicate this bacteria from root
regimen is
cap Esomeprazol 40 one tab at empty stomach daily for 2 weeks
Tab clarithromycin 500mg 1+1 for 14 days
Tab amoxil 1gm or Flagyle 1+1 for 14 days
Tab motilium 1+1+1 at emty stomach .
Ispaghol husk 1+1 teaspoon
note.. motilium and ispaghol is not part of this regimen..

U can continue Esomeprazole
Because Esomeprazole has no effect on H Pylori. It just Improves the symptom.

No u can go for test without stopping eskmeperazole
there is no indication for stoping this esomeprazole keep complete you 2.5 months and continue your H pylori test

ideally you would need to stop Omeprazole 2 weeks before the stool test for H Pylori antigen.
