Asking for Mother, Female, 44 years old, Lahore, Pakistan
The patient developed an abscess in the gluteal area following an intramuscular injection. A minor surgical procedure (incision and drainage) was performed 4 days ago. The wound was incised and cleaned, and it has been left open for secondary healing.
Since the procedure, the wound is being cleaned regularly with normal saline and Eusol solution as advised, with routine dressing changes.
Current Concern: For the past 4 days post-procedure, the patient has been experiencing a persistent burning sensation in the surrounding gluteal area. The burning is diffuse around the wound site rather than limited strictly to the incision line.
Kindly evaluate for: 1. Whether this burning sensation is part of normal healing 2. Possible inflammatory reaction 3. Chemical irritation (possibly from Eusol)
Sitz bath, simple saline soaked dressing
get yourself examined by a general surgeon
need to check if there is any skin redness or signs of inflammation. it can be due to many reasons, including an irrirant tape
