I have a small lump in armpit since two years. It was painless and hard. It used to change in appearance with my periods. Now after 2years I feel it has become bigger in size and painful upon touching. Which doctor should I visit? Is it a swollen lymph node?

I have consulted a general surgeon and she has recommended excision under local anaesthesia. Can I delay the excision till December? Or should I get it removed asap? It has mild pain in it n no cheesy material coming out from it
