Anterior abdominal wall measuring defect of 5MM is observed in umbilical region (this is as per ultrasound).
Is surgery recommended or we can wait for few more years?

small hernia are more prone to cause complications like strangulation. however due to small size bowel rarely gets into the defect. you can wait. however, if you develop any of the following symptoms then go to emergency immediately
1) irreducible painful swelling in hernia
2) inability to pass stool and flatus or vomiting green colored
3) severe pain in whole abdomen
other than this you can wait
wait till 5 year,,
