Asking For Father, Male 55, Karachi
Hello Dr.. My father has some serious wound in leg thumb.. In first 2 weeks it's a minor wound so dr took small surgery for it. But now it's a big wound as you see in picture.. He's a sugar patient for last 30 years he's taking medicine for sugar no insulin etc.. Kindly guide me what would we do for this??
Needs strict blood sugar control and see some orthopedic surgeon
it's going towards diabetic foot needs frequent debriedment and strict bsl control and wash with water and hydrogen peroxide

This wound is non healing diabetic wound,it’s needs antibiotics and dressing regularly if still shows signs of non healing may needs debridement with flap

needs good diabetic control, and daily dressing if the wound under supervision of a surgeon
Patient needs strict blood sugar control, wound swab for culture/ sensitivity, daily dressing with normal saline and pyodine solution and antibiotics according to culture/sensitivity report. If condition deteriorates, immediately consult with general surgeon in person. Patient might need duplex scan of legs to check the blood flow.
