Asking for Self, Female, 27 years old, Lahore
I am breast feeding my 3 months old from right breast only since he does not latch properly on left one and does not feed well. Now my right breast is visibly elongated while right is small. Is it a temporary problem and will be resolved on weaning. Or is it a cause of concern and how to correct it. Please advise
aoa dear,
firstly why is infant is not suckling from left breast, do u have any condition which doesnot let him latch properly like inverted nipple etc,
its normal that only that breast will grow which is used for breastfeeding ,
i will suggest you should consult a surgeon to get assessed properly,
if it is just enlargement due to feeding, it will regress a bit once u stop , however a difference will remain in size, and sometimes thats unacceptable to patient.
so pl get assessed.
hi,
i would agree with above advise .but i dont think the assessment is going to add many issue is well defined you need to encourage the baby to use lt breast, otherwise, this asymmetry is going to be is just like disuse regression, so to keep symmetrical lt breast does need stimulation and lactation
