I think you betterweek for 2 months before you start with oral iron. Although no, strong evidence is available against iron use, it is better avoided during first trimester.

it is safe to use oral iron in particular if you have low reserves as pregnancy is going to further deplete .you should be taking this on regular basis its not shown in any form of research to be harmful to baby or mother if used in first trimester
oral iron isnt recommended in 1st trimester, try improving ur diet, and continue folic acid
