Talk to Gynecologist on After Abortion

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 19 years old, Lahore

I had a medical abortion on July 15. The bleeding completely stopped by July 20. However, after that, I occasionally experienced sudden episodes of bleeding.

A few days after the abortion, I noticed some tissue coming out of my vagina and hanging from it. It eventually came out completely. After that, I continued to experience occasional episodes of bleeding.

On August 19, I noticed another piece of tissue hanging from my vagina, which came out on August 20. A few days later, around August 26 or 27, I started experiencing daily light bleeding along with small blood clots, which continued for several days.

I would like to know whether this bleeding was likely to be my menstrual period or whether it could have been related to the abortion or retained tissue. If it was not my period, when should I expect my first menstrual period after the abortion?

Also, is this pattern of bleeding and passing clots/tissue normal after a medical abortion, or could it indicate a complication that requires medical evaluation?
