Asking for Self, Female, 40 years old, Rawalpindi
Women say that if water is used during menses for washing or taking bath then periods get slowed down. HAVE Experienced it as well. Is it true or just a myth. I have repeated urinary tract infections. Can they be due to not taking bath. Also advise what are possible reasons for repeated urinary tract infections. Earlier a gynae had advised a famina urinary wash.

its a myth...keep urself as clean as possible...femina wash r good for keeping hygiene but not more than 2-3 times per day wth the proper technique...like using different hands for both parts etc...also ask ur partener to use as well...
keep a watch on ur vaginal discharge...smelly or itchy or both discharge from vagina of any colour can predispose to UTI...even if its not smelly or non itchy but u c abnormal in consistency or amount...then it can cause UTI...
Its better to c ur OBG consultant directly...
hope u understand the limitation of online consultations...

if you are getting repeated urinary tract infections better to get your urine culture done and maintain good hygiene
