swelling is nt good-its one of the signs of inflammation-this means tht sumthg is going wrong-in modern surgery use of anti septic solutions has been abandoned as they instead of healing cause irritation and giv way to infection to occur-already immediately aft surgery u r taking a course of anti biotics wch is enuf for keeping ur wound integrity intact-depending on the site of ur scar of course hygiene is of utmost importance-if skin wound then daily cleaning wth soap and plain water and drying wth disposable towel is u shud seek advice from ur primary surgeon on this-
