Talk to Gynecologist on Clarithromycin During 1st Trimester
Asking For Wife, Female 27, karachi
My wife took clarithromycin before she knew she was pregnant. She took 250mg twice and she is 7 weeks pregnant now. I have read that clarithromycin is not recommended during pregnancy and I am freaking out now. Can anyone please provide some more info ?

Limited data from a small number of published human studies with therapy use during pregnancy are insufficient to inform drug-associated risks of major birth defects, miscarriage, or adverse maternal or fetal outcomes (Copied from literature which we use as doctors for drugs). for next time please avoid any medication particularly antibiotics etc without doctors prescription as lots of medicines are not recommended or are unsafe during 1st 3 months of pregnancy!
