I get menstrual clots on 2nd and 3rd day of periods. Also feel pain in lower abdomen and upper thigh area on first day for almost half an hour as soon as period starts. No pain after that during period or between periods. Get periods every month 2 to 4 days before the last mentrual date. Is this normal or should i go for an ultrasound due to menstrual clots. Also i was anaemic when i last got my cbc done due to some food poisoning. Went on sangobion on doctor’s suggestion and completed a 3 month course got checked again the hb was okay and ferritin level showed i was iron deficient actually. Then continued sangobion and ate iron rich foods then all was good. Did the menstrual clots cause me to become anaemic? Thanks if you could help.

- iron supplements daily to maintain hb .
- for pain u can have tab ponstan on first few days of periods .
- better to check clots and bleeding with Gynae specialist to confirm heavy / abnormal bleed .
- have ultrasound scan for pelvis to be on safe side .
- follow with Reports .

Have iron supplements ,good containing iron like carrot spinich ,apples .

u also do ur serum ferritin if ur Hb keeps on reducing wthout any predisposing factor-if serum ferritin is normal then u hv to undergo Hb electrophoresis...or simply attend a medical and OBG clinic fr further treatment and mx...

Also i get it for 7 days with it being heavy on first three days then it gets to spotting and brown discharge at the last days that puts and end to it at the 7th day.
