Talk to Gynecologist on CMV (Cytomegalovirus) - Recurrent Miscarriage
Asking For Self, Female, 32 Years old, Islamabad
I am a 32 year old healthy female and have miscarried 3 times. My first baby who is now 6 years MASHAA ALLAH was delivered without any complication and is healthy ALHAMDULILLAH. After a three year gap I am facing recurrent miscarriage issue. Two of which had growth stopped at around 9 weeks and 1 was a bio chemical pregnancy. All the reports are fine except I have CMV positive. The CMV is positive since a year and with no antibodies. I have gone to several doctors and no one really knows its treatment. I want to conceive again after getting rid of this infection. Please help. Attaching report.

It may take upto a year or more to test negative. Sometimes it is false positive. Antiviral drugs are only recommended in immune compromised patients with symptoms or to babies born with congenital CMV. It is advisable in your case to wait for another 3-4 months and repeat your test.

Thank you for your reply doctor. I repeated the test after a year but still the IGG is negative still so I dont know if IGM will ever get negative thats why want to take anti virals now as maybe it transfers to the fetus and I miscarry in first trimester. Can you recommend anyone who can prescribe me the anti virals.

cmv is not know as a cause of recurrent miscarriage ...you already have a baby .do you need to look for excluding endocrine dysfunction
