Talk to Gynecologist on Constipation During Pregnancy
Asking for Sister, Female, 31 years old, Peshawar, kpk
Hi dr. I am currently 5 months pregnant and dealing with constipation. Plz suggest me some treatment of it b/c drs told us taking laxative can cause preterm Labour. Kindly help me in this regard.

yes dear overuse of laxatives is not justified in pregnancy
u should go for dietary modification first
use fruits lots of water isphagol husk
yogurt
n if u really need a laxative then you can take it cautiously
how many weeks u r pregnant
syp Duphalac 30 ml once if u havent passed stool for last 2 days
yes use of laxatives frequently is not recommended. you can use isphagol husks daily. and modify your diet to include more vegetables and drink plenty of water.
salaam. u can take laxative at the moment n increase water intake n fiber in diet.
