this is the field of genetics that u r asking..in uk gynaecologist r supposed to refer to genetic councellor if any couple found at risk after taking their details ,exam n labs if necessary. this is called screening of couples for disease...if any one at risk then need to go for test or to refer to genetic councellor,,if u want can visit me
