Talk to Gynecologist on Delayed Periods
Asking For Wife, Female 27, islamabad
Aoa, My wife is a foreigner and she have delayed period issues after C section and after taking (clonazepam, esglit 20mg, olanzia 10mg) she take that regularly because of postpartum depression before that problem is okay now but to stop those medicines the doc suggested a plan which we are working on to and her weight gain also because of that. Along with those medicines she also have contraceptive pills (ECP). Her last period was before ramadan and we took hcg strip test more than 25 time with a gap and all tests are negative. Please suggest what to do because psychiatric said to consult with a gynecologists regarding that and he can make changes in those mentioned medicine above.

That issue is already resolved. There is a process to discontinue those medicines every doc know that and we can't just drop the medicines all of sudden and leave a patient like this hopefully you know that.

These pschytric medicine is cause of delay periods but can't stop these medicine suddenly I appreciate you that you are concerned about her weight and wants to reduce her weight but this weight gain is due to psychiatry medicine

Thank you so much Doc for your response on my post ? Exactly these medication is cause of the delayed periods and weight gain too.
Please suggest what to do in this case because we cant really stop those medicines all of sudden the doc already decrese the dosage and stopped some of medicines but only several left and that postpartum depression issue is resolved already but he suggest a plan to discontinue those but we have resolve this issue too so please if you have any suggestion or can let us know some medicines to continue the period cycles than let me know.

Antipsychotic medication like olanzapine causes weight gain and changes in period.
In such situation considering stability of her condition she may be switched to alternative medication which are devoted from these side effect.

No she is not just on those mediciation and because of that a cycle of her period messed up when she started those medicines also gain a weight too.
