Why dexamethasone inj 12mg is given to pregnent woman in 34-35th week. Is it necessary even if normal delivery is expected? Some doctors suggests it just in case of c section. Kindly reply asap thanks

Dexamethasone or Betamethasone is given for lung maturity and prevent enterocolitis in preterm newborn. It is irrespective of mode of delivery. Betamethasone is better than Dexamethasone.
