Talk to Gynecologist on Dosage Metformin

Asslamoalikum docters so far iam 31 weeks pregnant and when i was 28weeks i was diagnosed with gestational diabetes so docter prescribed me that time metformin 500mg twice a day and then told me start writing my glucose level and then after 2 weeks send us your level and my suger levels were keep coming high even though i was taking my medicine so today after seeing my glucose level my GD docter inrease my dose of metformin they add 2tablets in PM Time like 1tab before breakfast and another 2 tablets in afternon and 1 tablet before doing dinner so total 4 tabs in a day each tab is 500mg so my main question is that is if safe for baby ? Iam worried increasing this much amount of metformin dosage will effect baby or not? Please guide me thanks in advance

Thanks it is important to increase the dose for control of blood sugar don’t worry it will not effect your baby high sugar can effect your baby so you continue as your dr advise
Dear increase dose of metformin will not affect ur baby.. However increase blood glucose will definitly cause harm to baby.. Ur target should be to have FBS below 100mg/dl and 1 hr post meals should be less than 140 mg / dl..
Ideally u should go for INSULIN uf ur BSL are not controlled on glucophage. Because last 3 months are most crucial months.. Keep a gud record of ur fetal movements also.

Thanks docter yes iam keepin eye in movement but iam quit confuse somedays movements are strong and some days its not that much noticeable also yesterday they just increase my dose and still suger comes 170 after 2hr meal ?iam so much worried and they are not giving me insulin?is suger keeo coming high too much dangerous?
