.. i need to know about something if can tell please.. I need to know about echogenic foci in right ventricle of fetus ( just 1 dot) rest no abnormality seen in baby heart or body.. im 24 weeks pregnant this came in yesterday scan.. as per doctor nothing to worry but need to cross check.. please if u can respond im toooo much worried

These are called the soft markers meaning if 2 different soft markers are present the risk of chromosome anomaly increases. With one soft marker the incidence of abnormality is low.

Aoa mostly it is normal variant on routine scan. But if u are worried have detail anomaly scan with echo and rule out Down’s syndrome ( trisomy 21). Thanks

this is wt Dr.Zahid Pasha told me wn i was discussing one of my patients who hd the same echogenic foci in right ventricle...he said if no other structural anomaly found and patient has low risk then nothing to worry about...it disappears wth time...so v went wth the expert''s opinion and ma sha Allah she has a healthy baby boy now...GOOD LUCK to you too...
