I have been taking Higolix (elagolix) for a long time for severe endometriosis symptoms, especially intense pelvic inflammation, burning pain, pelvic pressure, and extremely painful period-like cramps. It helped suppress my periods and control my pain, but unfortunately I have developed significant concerns about bone mineral density/bone weakness after prolonged use. My gynecologist has now advised me to stop Higolix ، switch to another hormonal treatment and vissaneHowever, I have received two different prescriptions from two gynecologists: • One doctor prescribed Famila 28 • Another doctor prescribed Omatril (lynestrenol) 5 mg twice daily I am confused about which option would be more suitable for my situation. My main concerns are: 1. I want to stop further bone loss and give my bones a chance to recover, because I am worried about developing a serious bone condition or fractures. 2. I need something that can control my severe endometriosis-related pelvic pain, inflammation and burning. 3. I would like to suppress my periods and prevent the intense period-like cramps I have been experiencing. 4. I want an effective long-term option after stopping Higolix, but I don't want another treatment that could significantly worsen my bone health. Could any gynecologists, endocrinologists, or endometriosis specialists please share their professional opinion on the following? - How do Famila 28 and Omatril/lynestrenol compare for endometriosis-related pain and menstrual suppression? - Which option is generally more appropriate after prolonged elagolix use and concerns about bone mineral density? - Do either of these treatments affect bone health, and should bone mineral density, vitamin D, calcium, or other tests be monitored? - What side effects, contraindications, or important drug interactions should be considered? - Is additional treatment or a different approach needed to help protect or restore bone health?
