You should take 600mcg folic acid if you don’t have any other risk factors

Okay, I understand you're concerned about the appropriate folic acid dosage during your first pregnancy, given conflicting advice from different gynecologists. To give you the best guidance, could you clarify:

* How far along are you in your pregnancy? (e.g., weeks)
* Do you have any known risk factors, such as a family history of neural tube defects, pre-existing medical conditions (e.g., diabetes), or are you taking any other medications?
* What was the reasoning behind each doctor's recommendation? (If you recall)

Once I have this information, I can provide a more tailored and helpful response.
