Talk to Gynecologist on Genital Pain After Childbirth

person-avatar

Asking for Self, Female, 27 years old, Karachi

Its been a month to my delivery (first time mom and took epi too) and I am suddenly experiencing sharp pain in the lower bottom area (perhaps the vulva) for past 2-3 days. I can't sit and it gets worse when I sneeze or cough. Is it something serious? What is it and what should be done? I visited my gynae for a checkup and she said all is well. Please help.

Difficult to comment as I have not examined. If your doctor is satisfied so may not me a big issue.

Thank you so very much for your detailed response and prescription, doctor. JazakAllah. I have a couple of questions:

1. My episiotomy stitches started to get infected in the early days and so I had 1000g augemention for 5 days. Does this count or do I take augmentin again?

2. Can you guide a bit on how to do light therapy please?

Thank you so much for the help. God bless.

Light therapy in which Expose stitched area for 10-20 mins in light bulb in form of analgesic lamp 2-3 times a day as per severity of symmptoms.
-Do have Examination nby local gynae Doctor along with these precautions.
-if already augmenting taken then it depends on wound condition either it need further strong antibiotics or not so discuss after having Examonation with local specialist as need antibiotics or not. Then better to choose any other with flagyl
-best of luck.

Lamp can be available at good pharmacy or medical equipment shop.

The pain is not on the stitches site. I have marked the affected area red in the attached picture.
