In a normal pregnancy,minimum 3 ultrasound scans are recommended,1-in first 3 months (dating scan),2-At 18-20 weeks (Anomaly scan) to see your baby is normal and has no congenital malformation 3-in 9th month to confirm baby presentation (first part that enters pelvis) to plan mode of delivery (normal vaginal delivery or cesarean section).For complicated pregnancies like low lying placenta,baby growth retardation more frequent scans may be required depending upon the condition.
